500 Gallon Underground Tank Specifications

The top of the tank will be about 12" below the original grade level.  Approximately 12" of the dome will be above the completed grade level so the valves, filling connection, and regulator will be above any possible surface water.  The surrounding area must be graded to provide for water runoff from the dome of the tank.  For refueling, the tank must be located within 125 feet of either a stone/paved drive or steet.

Note: If at all possible, the underground container shall be located a minimum of 10 ft. from driveways, streets, or other areas subject to vehicular traffic.  If the tank must be located within 10 ft. of areas subject to vehicular traffic, protection of the filling housing, housing cover (i.e. dome), tank connections, and piping shall be provided to protect against vehicular damage.  This protection shall conform to sound engineering practices.
